There is a huge misconception towards poker that some people are born poker players. At one point talent is god gifted thing but IF left “untapped”, then it is of no use. By “untapped” we are not extolling on 2 to 3 hours of gaming sessions in online or offline poker and WHOLA!!! You are pro just like that. No, as a matter of fact you need to pay your dues in due time and it is not easy.

You look at “Jason Mercier” and “Phil Ivey” playing poker and you think they have natural born poker talent. Natural talent only means that you are emotionally stable, have a hunger for learning new things and are risk averse.

What exactly you need to score big? Let me tell you, you need to make friends in poker rooms. If you are not playing online, then you need to know people in real life, who are not just good at it, they are the best. Learn from them and you don’t need to hit up on a topic. Just watch them playing and think of the reasons why they made a move and why not go for an alternative?

You don’t have to be physically fit to play poker, especially not online. Your physical appearance has nothing to do with the love for poker. History has seen a horse raced handicapped player, making his name in the world of poker.

Similarly IQ level has not much to do with how you play poker. Your basics need to be firmer and stronger. Believe me, when we talk about IQ level, there have been pro poker players who have had their fair share of IQ tests. And some of them didn’t even fall on the average scale in an IQ test.
